Though you can certainly use a platform base to increase the height of the mattress, it's worth mentioning that the mattress should feel just as good laying on a flat, concrete surface.
Additionally, sure to take a good look at the warranties that different companies have and be wary of poor quality imitations. You can't always be certain of the quality of memory foam from overseas, so be wary of foam mattresses that are not manufactured in the US.
